Training Site Reliability Engineers for a Leading U.S. Mortgage Provider 

One of the leading U.S. mortgage providers wanted to build a reliable pipeline of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) equipped to monitor, maintain, and optimize internal systems and take corrective measures. 

Challenges 

The client faced growing operational challenges due to insufficient monitoring and response capabilities across critical infrastructure. They struggled with high attrition and a lack of qualified entry- and mid-level SRE candidates, limiting their ability to scale.  

Our solution 

We leveraged our Hire-Train-Deploy solution and rapidly deployed a tailored SRE training program to address the client’s unique talent and technology needs.  

  • Assembled a custom cohort of six entry- and mid-level candidates, carefully selected to align with the client’s technical environment and operational goals.
  • Delivered hands-on training across various skills including Splunk, CloudWatch, Docker, and AWS. 
  • A scorecard model ensured transparency throughout the process, enabling the client to track candidate progress and ensure job readiness upon placement.

Business outcomes 

The collaboration delivered immediate, measurable impact: 

  • Selection rate: 100% selection rate for the first SRE cohort, where a total of six candidates were trained. 
  • Cost reduction: 40% cost savings compared to traditional talent acquisition models. 
  • Improved retention: Improved employee retention driven by targeted training and clear alignment with role expectations. 

Building on the success of the initial Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) training program, the client reaffirmed their confidence in our delivery by commissioning a second SRE cohort.
