Our client, a communications organization, previously served small to medium-sized organizations. They recently, expanded their focus by piloting business Ethernet and voice products to large-scale customers. Due to the scale of these implementations, the organization decided to build a Project Management Office (PMO).

Challenges

They urgently needed multiple technical project managers to onboard new customers for voice and Ethernet products. Additionally, faced backlog issues like billing reconciliations and site delays, requiring a swift resolution.

Hiring experienced customer-facing project managers with Ethernet implementation skills while staying within budget posed a significant challenge.

Our solution

We recommended to the executive responsible for building the PMO and procurement that they issue a bulk hire RFP instead of posting each position individually on the VMS portal. We outperformed five other vendors, each presenting candidates with impressive backgrounds from similar organizations.

We narrowed down a list of 40 profiles to 12 and quickly expanded the Statement of Work (SOW) to include 13 project managers of varying expertise levels within three months of our initial hires.

Business outcomes

Our bulk hire solution enabled the client to effectively address problems with existing customers, reconcile numerous billing discrepancies, and streamline implementation while successfully onboarding organizations. Additionally, our approach led to substantial annual savings compared to posting each position individually on the VMS portal.
